Sunglasses

She's got hers on, do you?  LOL  Bit of a bright card isn't it.  Well, there's a couple of reasons.  Our wonderful Kat has chosen a theme of "Summer is coming" at Mo's Digital Pencil and Linda chose a "Yellow" theme at the Catered Crop.  Summer--yellow---I couldn't help but combine the two.
I knew the theme was yellow at Catered Crop but I popped over there to read Linda's write up and nearly started my project all over again.  She explains how you can pair the yellow with any color and it will pop EXCEPT red which will make it look like mustard and ketchup.  AI YAI YAI!  I hope my card doesn't look like it belongs on a plate!  LOL  I did try going with blue mats instead of red but it just didn't work for me so I stuck with the red pulling it out of the fun ice cream/popsicle paper.
How do you like her shades?  Found them in the Michaels $1 bin.  They're just thick chipboard.  I painted them with gesso and orange acrylic paint, added some white gesso dots that got totally covered up with the bling I added, and covered them with Glossy Accents.  The clouds and sun are new dies I just got from Lil' Inker Designs.
You can find "Summer Girl" in Mo's store and if you haven't been browsing there lately you should really check it out.  Mo's has added several new images the last week or so.  Don't forget about our kids challenge coming up next week.  Get your little ones involved in our crafty fun.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Crafting with Dragonflies--one for the girls
Creative Moments--lots of layers

Shake your booty

Arrrrrr is definitely the word of the day with this card.  I'm not happy with it at all, but here it is.  Our fabulous Mary J has chosen the theme of "circles" for the new challenge at TSG.  It took me forever just to come up with with the tent card idea.  Then I was concentrating so hard on not getting the score tape on the tent base stuck anywhere it wasn't supposed to be that I turned the dumb thing upside down and attached it the wrong way. grrrrr  The pirate ship paper is cute, but I think a bit too busy.  At least I'm happy with the hunky muscular pirate.  LOL (I'm more of a Johnny Depp with NICE teeth pirate girl) ☺
I'm sure you can all find much better ways to use circles on your projects and play along with our challenge for a chance at a $5.00 gift certificate to the TSG store.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Little Red Wagon--make it punny

I've been super busy all weekend so haven't been able to do my visiting.  Hope to be back on track tomorrow.  Wishing all my US friends a wonderful Memorial Day!

Happy Birthday to Jessica Knutsen!

It's a special day for There She Goes owner Jessica Knutsen.  It's her birthday!  Present and past Trendsetters have come together with a blog hop to celebrate her special day.    She could use a nice happy birthday since she's about to be moving soon.
I've used a reverse version of the Seize the Birthday sketch this week.  I also did a lot of fussy cutting.  The cake icing is up on pop dots and Miss Chef is three layers deep.  Here's a close up so you can see the layering better.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Bee thankful

Buzz....buzzzz.  Our bee keeper has moved his nursery hives out for the year, but I had this cutie buzzing around my craft table.  He's called "Baby Fairy Bee".
Our hostess this week at Mo's Digital Pencil is our sweet DT sistah, Debbie, and she wants to see "Thank You" projects.  I used a sketch from a couple of weeks back at Bearly Mine making yellow and black the primary colors in keeping with the bee theme.  Lots of punched and hand layered flowers that I gave a light coating of Creative Inspirations paint to for a little shimmer and shine.  I added a Memory Box Corner Bow die cut so the top left corner wasn't so bare.  The butterfly was made by punching it out in yellow and black.  I then cut the center out of the black one and glued it to the back of the yellow one slightly off to give the wings a black edging.  Both the butterfly and flowers were embossed for dimension with my EK Success embossing tool.
Why not try for a chance at winning a $5.00 gift voucher to Mo's store this week by finding a Mo image in your stash and creating a Thank You card for the challenge.

TSG Blog Hop--Day 1--Aquaholic

Thoughts and prayers with the people of Oklahoma.

Are you ready for summer?  Well our first day of new release sneak peeks from There She Goes Clear Stamps starts with some super cute water themed stamps from Melyssa Connolly.

Aquaholic is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 26 stamps and will sell for $24.00.
This set will be available for purchase at 11pmEST on Saturday, May 25th.

For my card I've used three of the images and a sentiment from the set.  I used a card base of navy blue and then layered some water patterned DP up on pop dots.  I had cut the two circles with my Nesties and then cut the holes in the mat a little larger.  The circles themselves are glued down to the base of the card.  The diver and critters are also popped up on foam.  I know this is VERY CAS but the stamps are so cute and I am over the moon with how the bubbles turned out.  The larger ones are dew drops and then I added some smaller ones with Glossy Accents.  There's some more GA on the fish eyes, jelly fish spots and the goggles.  Fun huh!
Would you like to win the new Aquaholic stamp set? Here is what you need to do- visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. Keep calm and pedal on

Can you believe it!  I made a stair step card!  LOL  Had this fun Girlfriends image inked up and stamped laying on my work table.  I knew I wanted to "make a scene"(pun intended  hee hee).  It just took me a little while to figure out how I was going to go about it.  I used one of Beate Johns fantastic tutorials at Splitcoast Stampers here to make the base and then created the scene for my biking gals.  Here's a side view.

It's kind of hard to see but the gray mat has some scored lines in it to make it look like a sidewalk.  The girls are attached to this layer.  The next layer back is grass, a fence and some tiny little flowers.  I used my embosser to give the flowers a little shape and then added rhinestones colored with Copics for their centers.  The last layer is the sky, complete with some puffy white clouds and one of the sentiments from the Pedal Pushers stamp set from Art Impressions.  All I can say is that gal in the pink needs to go to the Olympics.  LOL
I'd like to enter my card in these challenges:

Great Impressions--celebrations
Joanna Sheen--girls, girls, girls
The Squirrel and the Fox--here come the girls
4 Crafty Chicks--birthday

Ten-hut!

This is a red, white, and blue kind of week at Mo's Digital Pencil.  Our wonderful DT sistah Tine hails from Norway and that country will be celebrating it's national day on the 17th.  As our hostess for this weeks challenge, Tine wants to see projects in Norwegian flag colors.
I've used one of the sailor boys from the Sailor Boy set in Mo's store and I added the soldiers from the set too.  Lots of red, white, and blue as you can see.  We're also having a "Use fabric" theme over at the Catered Crop so I pulled out some cheesecloth and cut my banner pieces from sticky backed canvas.  The flags are adhered to chipboard for stability.  I also added some chipboard stars covered with crackle paint.
Two fun challenges for you to join in this week.  We also have something fun coming up at Mo's.

Movin' right along

Time for a new challenge at There She Goes and we are "Movin' On".  What does that mean?  Whether leaving the home for college, getting married, moving to a new town or apartment, getting a new job…just make a card for the person “moving on” in your life.
This is my second attempt at making a card for this theme.  My first one was made during the missing mojo time frame last week that I mentioned.  I won't even show you the first card it was so bad.  I like this one MUCH better and it was fun to put together.
I've used a couple of the stamps from Torico's "On the Move" set from TSG.  Lots of layering and I pulled out my sewing machine for some real stitching.  Lots of die cuts on this one.  Hope you'll come play along with us.
For those of you who visited and read my post on my mom's Mother's Day card you might be interested in knowing that she had just come in from the store when I brought her gift and card over and she unloaded TWO bags of ice cream.  LOL
     Have a fantastic week!

Mom loves ice cream

Here I am down to the wire creating my mom's Mother's Day card.  Had a bit of crafty mojo depletion the last few days.  Now you may look at this and think it's a pretty weird image choice for a Mother's Day card, but if you knew just how much my mom LOVES ice cream it wouldn't seem weird at all.  The Stamping Bella Uptown Girl image is even called "Isabella Loves Her Ice Cream".  Substitute my moms name, Mary, and there you go.  LOL
I've used the new sketch up today at Sketch Saturday and went a bit on the bright side with the papers, mainly because that bottom mat is full of ice cream and popsicles.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

You take the cake!

How fun is this cupcake thief?  I think I could find myself falling into her line of work very easily.  LOL
This week at Mo's Digital Pencil my super sweet AND talented DT sistah, Anja, is our hostess and she's asked for "CAS" cards. Yikey poo!  You guys know that I am in the process of learning to do CAS well with my TSG projects.  It's definitely an ongoing thing and NOT something I practice on my Mo cards.  These are the ones where I raid every drawer of my stash and have a card that's rarely under a 1/2 "-3/4" thick.
I picked the "Cupcake Thief" because I thought it could carry the card all by itself.  I have to give credit where credit is due and tell you that a LOT of my inspiration for this card came from two amazing card makers and they are polar opposites of one another in style.  The first is Alice Wertz.  This lady is a perfect example of a signature style.  I never have to guess about who made her cards when I see them.  Her style is unique and I sooooo admire her work.  She has the ability to make every image she uses carry her cards all by themselves with very little embellishment.  You can see her version of this image on a card here.
The second artist is Vili.  I just found her blog recently and have been filling up my "Inspiring Cards" Pinterest board with her creations.  She uses some of the most unique layouts and designs on her cards and her coloring in out of this world.  I got my design idea for having the image on both panels and some of the coloring ideas from her card here.
I know most of you who visit here are not normally CAS card makers, but we'd love for you to challenge yourself and join in the fun at Mo's this week.  Just use a Mo image and if you don't have one pop over to Mo's store.  You can definitely find a thing or two...or three that you'll love.
I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Moving Along with the Times--CAS
Divas by Design--anything goes
Flutterby Wednesdays--open + butterfly or fairy
Simon Says Stamp--things with wings

Fly me to the moon Iron Man!

Hope you were ready for another Girlfriends card cause here it is.  LOL  I received the new release stamps that I won and picked this one to color up first.  Bet they're ogling Tony Stark don't you think.  hee hee
This super fun stamp from Art Impressions is called "At the Movies".  The girls are colored up with Copics and as an after thought I added some Liquid Applique to their popcorn for some fun dimension. The ticket was a blank one from Making Memories.  I added the "Admit One" with my computer and used a silver star paper clip to hold it on the card.
Here's the inside of the card.

Nothing fancy.  I just finished it with some cream cards stock for the personalized message and some more of the DP.  Another doctored blank ticket and swirl paper clip.

Promise me

Monday, Monday...time for the new challenge at There She Goes.  This week Wendy is hosting and she's chosen a "paper piecing" theme for the challenge.
I've used the sketch from Deconstructing Sketches and broke out this sweet little "The Beary Best" set to use on my card.  The flower is paper pieced as well as her dress.  Very little Copic coloring here.  Just a stem and her fur.  I used a wash cloth and some colorless blender to make her fuzzy.
Hope you'll come join in our fun!

Hi Friend!

Have you ever finished up a project, sat back, and said, "I should have stopped an hour ago."  LOL  I'm not sure I like everything I've done on this card  It feels a bit OVER-done, but it is what it is.
Our new challenge over at the Catered Crop is embossing.  Linda has a ton of great inspiration pieces posted for you to peruse.  You'll see that the embossing she is referring to is dry embossing, but I couldn't help but add a bit of wet style too.  Most of my dry embossing got covered up, but it's there, I promise.  The main mat and the yellow piece at the bottom were both run through my Cuttlebug in embossing folders and the Spellbinders die cut I cut in half to frame the image and the image itself were embossed around the edges.  I added a bit of Frayed Burlap Distress ink to try to make the raised areas show up a little better.
Been a while since you've seen me color up a Saturated Canary image huh.  LOL  I have a LOT of them, but to be honest, they intimidate me a bit.  The hair coloring always has me shaking in my shoes.  This one is called "Thank You" and I think she's just adorable.  I'm happy enough with the hair and the rest of her was  pretty easy to color.  Not so sure about the Liquid Pearl dots (that's one of those add-ons in the questionable last hour).
I added some rolled flowers glittered up with Stickles, lots of leaf punches, and broke out my still unopened jar of white embossing enamel for a little zing to the tag and yellow embossed panel.
I'm sure you all have an embossing folder or two in your stash so whip something up and hop on over to the Catered Crop to link up.

This ain't my first rodeo

Howdy cowpokes!  This here little lady is ready come what may cause it ain't her first rodeo.  LOL This is "Howdy" and I picked her to make my card for this weeks "Anything Goes" challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil.
For my card I used some woodgrain for the background and then stamped some swirls in Vintage Sepia for some interest.  I die cut some chipboard stars and covered them with DP and used a chipboard buckle that I covered with Distress Ink and Crackle Accents.  I then cut a strip of grunge paper and used Distress on it also, threading it through the buckle.
Anything goes is easy peasy so get out a Mo image and come join in the fun for your chance at a $5.00 gift voucher to Mo's store.
Wanted to thank everyone for the encouragement about my announcement yesterday and thought I'd share this photo of my backyard after yesterday's huge thunderstorms.  I think we got 4-6 inches in about five or six hours.  Lots of flash flooding.  Hubby's poor garden lies beyond the scuppanong vines in the background or at least it did before it floated away to the Gulf.  It's supposed to rain some more today.  YAY!
