Birthday Thoughts

Well friends, it's another Bellarific Friday.  Hope you all have some exciting and fun plans for the Labor Day weekend if you're here in the US.
The challenge was to use this sketch.
sketch-17---Aug-29 copy
I've kept my card design really simple for mailing purposes.  I've used Stamping Bella's "Uptown Girl Jayden loves to Journal".  This is the first time I've colored her up and I just love her!
As usual you can't see the Wink of Stella glitter pen that I added to the flowers on her shirt, but you can see a hint of the Stickles I added to the steam and her cupcake.

There are some great new things coming for Stampingbella so be on the lookout.  Em has a little contest going on at Blogabella and on FB to take a selfie with your fave SB stamp/stamps.  There's a $50.00 voucher up for grabs!
Next weeks challenge is to use paper piecing on a card with a SB stamp of course.  Hope you'll play along!

I'm proud of you

This week it's my turn to host the challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil.  I know all the kiddies are heading back to school at this time so that's the theme I chose, "Back to School".  I've used First Day Faye on my card.
I used a pretty simple layout for the base of the card and added some dots of paint in the corners.  The center tag panel was created with some Bazzill (I know this looks like black, but it's actually Bitter Chocolate) and a piece of lined paper I cut from a larger 6 x 6 page.  It was just plain so I added all the stamping to make it look like a school paper.

Copics Used:

Goin' to a party

Woohoo!  It's party time!  It's Bellarific Friday too.  The last challenge was to use this awesome photo as your inspiration.  I chose to use all the wonderful colors and Uptown Girl Posh.

Now as you can see, Posh has a few prezzies and daBella herself, Emily has one for you.
It's a FLASH SALE at Stamping Bella!  Em needs to clear out some inventory.  Stamping Bella is about to get a big facelift AND add thirty, yes THIRTY new images, so Em needs some room.  That's where the prezzie comes in.  She's offering a 25% discount on everything she has on stock in the SB store.  You can pop over to Blogabella for all the details.

Tim the Toolman?

Now if you trade out his hammer and drill for a broom and dustpan this would be me.  LOL  For some reason the spring cleaning bug has hit me in the fall.  I have been doing some major de-cluttering of my house.  I don't know, maybe it's because I'm almost fifty, but I'm ready for a streamlined, easy access, easy clean house.  Wish me luck!
This guy is so much fun.  He's the "Weekend Warrior" from Art Impressions Stamps.  He had all those tools so I gave him some note and graph paper, and a ruler to help him along.  It's kind of hard to see in the photo but I inked the hinges with silver and then distressed them a bit with some Vintage Photo Distress ink.

Let it all hang out

Nothing is sacred anymore is it.  My daughter and I saw a young man in Wal-mart the other day with his pants around his knees.  How he was walking I don't know, but we got a nice view of his underwear...a sight I could have done without.  Old Sylvia here has no problem hanging her undies out for all to see either.  hee hee
This fun stamp set is from Stamping Bella and it's called "Senior-ita Sylvia".  Last weeks challenge was to use this sketch.

Displaying sketch-16---Aug-25.jpg

Sylvia is colored up in Copics and I used one of my new toys.  You can't see it very well, but the black scalloped border across the center was cut with a stitched scallop died from Pretty Pink Posh.  I added a bit of doodling around the image and the sentiment strips.  Here's Sylvia and her unmentionables in all their glory.

Copics Used:

Wishes do come true

It's the second Thursday in August already and that means it's time for another challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil.  Our sweet Elaine has given us a theme of "Girl's Birthday".  I've chosen Mo's sweet Cinderella image for my card.  Now you might think Cindy is an odd choice for a birthday card, but we make a wish on the candles and send people birthday wishes.  Well, whose wishes came true better than Cinderella!  LOL
I did a little distressing around the card edges, removing a few pieces here and there and backing them with another DP just to give the card a tattered look.

Here comes the bride

Woohoo it's Friday!  That means it's time for a Stamping Bella Bellarific card and a new challenge.  Last weeks challenge was to use an Uptown Girl.  Since I needed to make a wedding card I chose "Brett and Brenda get married".  Played a bit with my new Cheery Lynn doily die and pulled out some Glimmer Mists to do the flower and leaves.
Her dress is covered with Wink of Stella clear glitter.  So wish it would show up better in pictures.

Sprinkled with fun!

Whew!  Are you all finding that this summer seems to be especially busy.  The more I try to get ahead the further I seem to get behind.  I've been working on some cards for Art Impressions and will have several to share with you over the next few weeks.  I'm going to try to spread them out a bit.  I'm finding that spare time for commenting is in short abundance and I'm sure it is for you too so I won't drown you in posts.
This image is called "Cupcake BFF's".  The new line of BFF characters is so much fun.  The cards I'm making are supposed to be used for displays at the craft shows so I'm not embellishing them very heavily since they need to be travel/packing friendly.  I found some cute candle stickers to add a little extra on this card.
